Faithful Seed Quadrille

Faithful seed, be loyal and true,
As I have been with you.
I long to see you try.
Be driven and fight,
Fight until you pull through.
Faithful seed, I plead with you.
Take everything I have and grow,
Grow stronger than you know.

In response to dVerse’s “seed quadrille” prompt.

A poem filled with hope, emotion, and desperation.

The Clown

It matters not whether I frown,
Nor lower my head in shame.
For I will always be the clown,
In your wicked game.
Even when I tread with stealth,
And deny all that you claim,
I will always be myself,
When you put me in the frame.
You may not devise my fate,
No matter how precise your aim.
I will rise above your hate.
With pride, I state my name.

A Magic Flight

Add fuel to the golden fire,
To make us go higher.
We took flight with no wings,
Only colourful rings,
Clutching a woven basket.
It took a while to grasp it,
But once we were suspended,
It could be comprehended,
That there is more to life,
Than war and strife.
Our view is panoramic.
There is such a thing as magic.
Though with each refreshing sigh,
We draw closer to ravens in the sky.

Finding Hope

Hope is always a light,
Flickering in crowds,
At the end of a tunnel,
Or lining the clouds.

Its either dazzling white,
Or a tepid yellow,
Beaming orange rays,
Or a silvery glow.

Could it be found in shadows?
In the absence of blinding light.
Simply a black room,
In the blanket of night.

Feel the comfort of dusk,
Of indigo skies,
A starless nightfall,
By closing your eyes.

Silent Rain

Listening to the sound of rain
Creates serenity.
Busy minds tune into the lull.
A provoked tranquility:
Calm enough to ease,
Loud enough to dispel
Unwelcome thoughts,
Wish them farewell.
A raindrop is silent,
Until it splashes.
Like his internal plight,
Before he turns to ashes.

Sailors’ Delusions

Sirens’ enchanting ballads
Flirt with sailors- a perfect illusion.
Unintentionally deceptive.
No escaping delusion.
The sly texture of her scales.
Lashings of hair, hiding skin.
Shells conceal her modesty,
Still, she draws the sailors in.
Both clueless and frivolous,
Equally attuned to curiosity.
Both dreamers, parched of love.
Beauty masks her animosity.
She steals their hearts,
In promise of devotion.
Robbing them of sanity,
Before returning to the ocean.
